About
Ifemelu and Obinze are a young couple from Nigeria who are forced to leave their home country due to military rule. Ifemelu goes to America, where she faces the challenges of being a black woman for the first time, while Obinze is unable to join her in the United States and instead lives illegally in London. After fifteen years apart, the two reunite in Nigeria, which has since become a democracy, and reignite their relationship and love for their homeland.
